Castle guide

What to See at Bran Castle

Take time for the courtyard, the timber galleries, the royal rooms and the views from the towers.

Timber galleries around the inner courtyard of Bran Castle

Start in the courtyard

The small inner courtyard, with its well and timber galleries, shows how the castle is built around the rock. Look up at the stairways and balconies that link its different levels.

Notice the royal rooms

Furnished rooms recall the years when Queen Marie lived here. Narrow stairways, low doorways and a hidden passage between floors connect them, so take your time and follow the visitor route.
