Welfare before entertainment
We want travel to respect animals and the places they live. Our editorial approach favours observing wildlife without disturbance and experiences that put animals’ physical and behavioural needs ahead of entertainment.
We do not want to promote cruelty, forced performances, harmful handling or encounters that depend on making wild animals behave like props. We consider credible welfare concerns when choosing or reviewing content.
What a listing means
Apollonaut is a discovery website. A mention or booking link is not an animal-welfare certification, independent inspection or guarantee about an operator. We do not claim to have audited every venue or experience.
Before booking an animal-related activity, ask how animals are housed and cared for, whether they can avoid interaction, and how the operator protects wildlife and habitat. Local laws and standards differ by destination.
Tell us about a concern
Email info@apollonaut.com with the Apollonaut page, the experience or venue concerned, and reliable information you can share safely. We will review the concern and may amend or remove content.
We are not an emergency or enforcement service. Report immediate harm to the relevant local authority. In Australia, animal-welfare laws and their enforcement are primarily the responsibility of state and territory governments.
